Project was
developed in 1998 to assist battered women with housing issues.
Training:
BWLAP offers a variety of trainings throughout the year as well as training materials. We receive funding each for topic-specific trainings. BWLAP responds to training requests as resources allow. BWLAP has also developed materials for local advocates to use in addition or in lieu of in-person trainings. BWLAP has developed training curriculum for use with law enforcement and court administrators. If you or your organization is interested in having BWLAP give a training for your group, please e-mail BWLAP at info@bwlap.org and one of us will contact you ASAP

Legal Consultation: BWLAP staff attorneys answer legal questions for anyone who calls the organization.

Litigation Support: BWLAP works with attorneys and advocates to strategize about cases, as well as providing legal research and works on high impact litigation.
Legal
Resource Development:
By improving and creating new legal tools, BWLAP provides attorneys
and advocates with an updated source of creative legal options,
such as technical assistance packets about legal issues affecting
battered women and the Domestic Abuse Case Summary. BWLAP also
provides a comprehensive, 300+ page manual called Agents for Change©
that outlines situational issues advocates may encounter, offers
a framework of focus for advocating, and provides relevant law
cites and cases.
